Introduction to SEO and Social Media (Intermediate level)

Duration: 1 day

Prerequisites: Basic understanding of HTML or use of a CMS

Objective of the course:

SEO - Search Engine Optimization is the optimization of your website for search engines such as Google, Yahoo, Bing etc. so that they can access the content of your site and bring up you web page for relevant searches.

This course is specially design to help increase traffic to your website which can result in potentially more business. SEM (Search Engine Marketing) companies charge a substantial fee to do the Initial SEO for your website, and on top of that a substantial monthly fee to maintain it.  So to make SEO affordable, why not do it yourself and bring the control of the search engine marketing in your hands.

  • What is SEO and how it can be beneficial for your business.
  • Understanding of Search engines, SEO and Page Rank
  • Creating your SEO strategy
  • Copyrighting tips for SEO
  • Identifying the right keywords (including the use of Google Keyword Tool)
  • Keyword placement
  • Link building (inbound and outbound links)
  • Other tools used for SEO
  • Some SEO tips

Use of SEO tools (Exercises)

Exercise 2: Submission of sitemaps to search engines such as (Google, Yahoo, Bing etc)

Exercise 4: How to set up website analytics with Google Analytics (add tracking code to website)

Exercise 5: Google Place submission (How to submit your business to Google Maps (Local Business Centre)
