Introduction to HTML and Web Design (Beginners Level) - Web design training

Duration: 3 days training + 2 days coursework

Objective of the course:

To understand the use of HTML (Hyper Text Mark-up Language) in the design of a website, the web design training course is tailored to the individual’s needs. First the web design level of the candidate is assessed and then the course is  then tailored to the candidate. The couse is a hands-on course and introduces the candidate to web design tools as the web design process.

Course Outline:

This course has been designed for a basic understanding of web design with  HTML, CSS and other tools.

Day 1

• Introduction to the internet and some web technologies
• What makes a website appeal to its visitors
• Introduction to HTML (some HTML Tags)
• Designing a webpage in HTML
• Introduction to HTML elements
• Styling of HTML elements

Day 2

• Design of webpages with CSS
• Introduction to web design tools
• Introduction to more tools that help in development (firebug / colour picker)
• Introduction to some graphic design tools
• Introduction to JavaScript

Day 3

• Designing a website in HTML
• Deploying a HTML website, Website Hosting and Domain Names
• Basic SEO elements when designing web pages
• Creating a sitemap
