Leadership and Management Training: Training for Managers ILM Recognised Programme (5 days)
Being an effective manager is a universally desirable skill in the employment world. The skill itself is often learned but rarely taught. Management is a skill that everyone has, but with this course you will begin to develop an understanding how to improve, apply and repeat it. Not only the aspects that revolve around managing people, but the aspects that will help your organisation thrive. These include business development, understanding HR, risk assessment, environmental sustainability and leadership.
As a middle manager you will be acutely aware of the constraints you have in operating in your role. Being responsible for a team or teams and then reporting to a senior manager. The programme covers how to deal with stressful situations and to be a good role model for your team members. This management programme has been designed using key skills, which pin point the areas of concern within middle management, blow away the common myths. It provides practical solutions and tools which in turn, allows the candidates to gain confidence and an increased awareness in business, the environment legislation, sustainability and to become more effective in their pivotal management role.
This ILM recognised Training for Managers programme (management courses) contains course works, carrying out researches and submitting/passing a mini dissertation of a specific topic to be agreed with the learner.
Who Should Attend?
This programme is specifically designed to give practising or potential middle managers the foundation for their formal development in this role. It is especially suited to those who are aspiring or seeking promotional prospect to their current position. CCW shall also provide a free coaching/mentoring service during the training sessions.
Course Contents
This course will cover the following:
- Understanding Leadership and the psychology in leadership, including recognition of personality type and leadership style
- Understanding problem solving and decision making
- Understanding marketing, business development, writing a business plan, and financial forecasting
- Employment legislation, improving interviewing techniques, and S.W.O.T. analyses
- Health & Safety legislations, policies, responsibilities, standards, 5-W & H, S.M.A.R.T. model, and practical application in carrying out a risk assessment and managing risk
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the management courses learners will be able to:
- Understand the psychology of leadership and the various leadership style
- Understanding problem solving and decision making
- Understand personally develop and the challenges
- Understand how to write a competitive bid document and prepare a business case
- Improve and develop communication, HR & interviewing skills
- Understand health & safety and how to carry out a risk assessments and risk management
Management Courses Format
The course is a 5-day training course/workshop that shows learners how to develop as an individual and as a manager. The recommended guided learning hours (GLH), is circa 45-99 hours.
