CITB Funded Training at CCW – What’s Covered and Who Can Apply

CITB Funded Training

We are able to offer CITB funded training. As a CITB Approved Training Organisation (ATO), CCW‑Training Academy is recognised for delivering high‑quality, construction‑relevant training that meets CITB’s national standards. This means employers and individuals in the construction sector can access CITB funding for eligible courses delivered by us.

What CITB Funding Covers

CITB provides financial support to help construction employers upskill their workforce. Funding is available through several routes, depending on the type of training and the size of the employer.

1. Employer Network Funding

CITB now funds most short‑duration courses exclusively through Employer Networks.

Funding levels:

  • 50% match‑funding for eligible construction‑related courses
  • 30% funding for CITB‑approved Health & Safety courses
  • No funding for First Aid training
  • Specialist courses (e.g., Plant Operations, Scaffolding) remain funded under CITB’s Grants Scheme

The Employer Network operates on a fixed annual budget, so early applications are recommended.

2. Qualification Achievement Grants

These grants support longer qualifications such as NVQs.

Current support includes:

  • £600 achievement grant for eligible qualifications
  • Attendance grants for long qualifications have been removed
  • Level 7 qualifications starting after 8 December 2025 are not supported

3. Large Employer Funding (250+ Employees)

From 31 March 2026, large employers will not be supported through Employer Networks. A new Large Employer Fund opened on the 1 April 2026.

  • Up to £18,000 funding available for large employers (250+ PAYE staff) to spend on any in‑scope training of their choice.
  • Replaces Employer Network access – large employers can no longer use Employer Networks from 1 April 2026.
  • All funded training must take place between 1 April 2026 and 31 March 2027.

Who Can Receive CITB Funding?

Funding is available to:

✔ CITB‑Registered Employers

To access funding, employers must:

  • Be registered with CITB
  • You do not have to pay into the levy to be eligible for CITB funding
  • Be up to date with levy payments
  • Apply through their local CITB adviser

✔ Small, Medium, and Large Employers

  • SMEs and Medium employers can access Employer Network funding for short courses
  • Large employers can apply for the Large Employer Fund

✔ Individuals Completing Recognised Qualifications

Achievement grants apply to learners completing eligible NVQs and other approved qualifications.
