CCW-Training Academy set sights on Singapore markets

The Welsh Government will take a high-profile trade mission to Singapore 8 – 15 July 2017

Fifteen businesses from a wide range of Welsh industries are prioritising expansion to the Singapore market.

Businesses from a range of sectors include the creative industries, life sciences, advanced manufacturing, ICT and food and drink, are among the export market visit heading to Singapore this month. These businesses represent the diversity of the Welsh economy and demonstrate that Wales is at the forefront of innovation, cutting edge technology and quality products.

Singapore is a leading global business hub, located where the major east and west shipping lanes converge. Singapore accounts for half of UK exports to ASEAN, worth £5.6 billion in 2014, although some will be re-exported elsewhere. It is one of the UK’s largest trading partners in Asia and one of the few countries with which the UK has a trade surplus.

The Welsh Government is supporting companies to take part in this export market visit and is working with British Singapore Chamber of Commerce to facilitate meetings in the region with like-minded companies and potential customers. The visit will build on existing links with the market.
