Good studying environment, especially considering the central location. Accessible car parks, excellent tutors who are open to questions, engagement and debate on key topics. All the staff were very welcoming, friendly, supportive and kept the class refreshed. They also offered really good support and advice for the essay assignment I needed to complete. Would highly recommend to aspiring managers.

I joined the Taith-COAL project held by CCW Wales and Instep Lille. The training was so inspirational, and it made me appreciate the importance of leadership and communication even more. Thank you, Mike, Tony, Brian, and Paul, for unconditionally sharing your experience and wisdom. I also want to express my gratitude to the CCW team, Lloyd and Harri, for their extremely supportive and helpful presence throughout this beautiful learning experience. The learning wasn't just limited to the classroom but extended outside in the container of the two-week cultural exchange program designed by CCW. I highly recommend it.

CCW is a great place for people who are interested in gaining skills for their professional life. They cover certified courses given by successful tutors. Worth to have a look! I did internship at CCW for 8 months. My experience there was great. I learned a lot, achieved a lot and I really hope I added value to the team. I have just returned from a two week programme led by CCW training academy and wow, what a fantastic experience it has been. Mike and his team of trainers are a welcoming, approachable, inspirational group of people, who are extremely professional while delivering their lessons, with fantastic, relatable experiences, and a little humour.added too! The actual COAL project was an unforgettable experience, with a lovely bunch of people from all walks of life, who were also full of inspiring stories which made the trip such a success - making memories and friends I will always hold dear! If you ever get the opportunity to complete this trip or the ILM level 2 course, I would HIGHLY recommend it, I have previously worked in education for over 15 years and during that time I have completed a number of different training and motivational seminars/courses, but none of them compare to the style of teaching received during this course...it quite simply has and will continue to change my mindset and life - Thank you SO much to Mike Tan and his absolutely fantastic team, both here and in Lille...I will be forever grateful for the experience and opportunity you have given to me! I have been booking my AAT Assessment Level 2 exams with CCW Training academy over the last 9 months, 4 in total with my last one today. Always a very pleasant and relaxed experience with nice small groups at a time and great location in Cardiff centre nr Museum. Always great communication when booking my exams making it easy to pay by invoice. Highly recommend and will definatly be booking my next AAT Level 3 exams with them.

I took the 2 week course level level 2 in Cardiff, it was an eye-opener. The company has in mind to manage a team you have to know yourself, and it is important to see management as a skill and not a promotion. And CCW totally got that, and helps you throughout the journey, with practical exercices, with practical debrief. It is truly an intense experience, professionally and emotionally, but you'll come back with a better knowledge, a better understanding of people's emotions and how to promote yourself. I can't recommend enough CCW and their programm for their kindness, professionalism and benevolence

The engaging CCW courses provided a well thought out training platform that really gave me a good understanding of how to develop my awareness and practical skills. The designed class sizes achieved the beneficial aspect of forging good relationships with participating trainees and creating WhatsApp group connections. The Trainers proved to be very knowledgeable of their field, and in addition, the accommodating support has proved to be invaluable. The anticipated gains in knowledge and skills have been delivered, plus more. Thank you, Harri, Lloyd, Mel, Ace, Mel, Mike, and the participants, for the support, learning, and laughter.

Taith - COAL project, Pathway 1". Amazing learning provider, very informative and fun way to learn. The tutors and staff are very friendly and engaging. I learnt so much and can honestly say the ILM course was life changing for me! The 2-week programme in France was eye opening and an amazing experience. We learnt so much in and out of the classroom. I couldn’t praise this company enough and honestly think what they do is life changing - and simply amazing.

My time at CCW was invaluable. They offered the opportunity to attend many quality training courses.Such as ILM Management and Leadership, ILM Trainer Training, Effective Communication in the Workplace, Personal Development, Microsoft Office Power Point in the trainings I attended, I met really competent and helpful trainers and received very useful trainings for my personal development. CCW gave me the opportunity to get to know new cultures and meet very nice people as well as professional trainings. They also run really successful projects. They gave me the opportunity to take part in many of their projects. And these projects taught me a lot about my plans and gave me a lot of ideas. I have to thank Mike Tan for making this possible and for him help. I would like to thank all the staff for their kindness and professionalism. I really enjoyed My two weeks training ILM n°2 /the train the trainer programme .It was an amazing experience , verry knowledgeable the team was amazing , very professionnal and really nice . I would highly recommand this training .

What can we offer you?

Our Institute of Leadership and Management training modules are new and innovative programmes. These management programmes have been designed to reflect the present economic climate and enable candidates to complete our ‘fast-track’ programme. Our training modules consist of blended learning (face to face, online, Zoom and 1-2-1 support for completion of assignments). All training materials will be provided, including the use of our training platform. Assignment support is provided through a 1-2-1 basis via Zoom/face to face, as well as through emails and phone calls if required.

The ILM Level 4 in Leadership and Management is ideal for individuals who have management responsibilities but no formal training and are serious about developing their abilities. This program particularly supports practising team leader/s seeking to move to the next level of management and managers who need to lead people though; organisational change, budget cuts or for personal development.

ILM Level 4 Assignments

You should plan to spend approximately 7 hours researching your workplace context, preparing for and writing or presenting the outcomes of each assignment for assessment. The ‘nominal’ word count for each assignment is 1000 words: the suggested range is between 1000 and 1500 words.

To complete and achieve a Level 4 Award in Leadership and Management, you will need to sit and submit an assignment for a minimum of 2 modules chosen from below:

  • Module 4: Motivating People in the Workplace
  • Module 5: Solving Problems by Making Effective Decisions in the Workplace

Module 1: Developing People in the Workplace

The purpose of this module is to offer knowledge to be able to plan the personal development of individuals in the workplace. These will include enhancing the participants’ skills in fostering team development and leadership qualities.

Learning Outcomes

  • Understand the importance of promoting personal development
  • Be able to plan an individual development
  • Use tools to build skills in developing the performance of team members
  • Ability to plan career development conversations for their team
  • Increased confidence in managing and leading abilities

Module 2: Managing a Healthy and Safe Environment

  • The purpose of this module is to develop an understanding and ability to be able to manage a healthy and safe environment as required by a practising or potential middle manager. These outcomes are designed to equip participants with the necessary skills to manage workplace environments proactively and safely.

Learning Outcomes

  • Understand the importance of working in a healthy and safe environment
  • Be able to manage a healthy and safe environment
  • Understand and apply relevant health and safety legislation and regulations.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential workplace hazards.
  • Develop and implement effective health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Promote a culture of health and safety awareness among all employees.
  • Respond effectively to health and safety incidents and emergencies.

Module 3: Managing Marketing Activities

The purpose of this unit is to develop understanding and ability to be able to manage a healthy and safe environment as required by a practising or potential middle manager. The learning outcomes aim to enhance the participants’ abilities to manage marketing efforts strategically and effectively.

Learning Outcomes

  • Understand the concepts involved in managing marketing
  • Be able to manage a healthy and safe environment
  • Able to develop and execute effective marketing strategies aligned with business goals
  • Able to analyse market trends and consumer behaviour to inform marketing decisions
  • Able to manage and optimise marketing campaigns across various channels
  • Lead and motivate a marketing team to achieve set objectives
  • Measure and report on the performance of marketing activities to assess ROI.

Module 4: Motivating People in the Workplace

The purpose of this unit is to be able to examine how levels of motivation can be improved to increase performance in the workplace.

Learning Outcomes

  • Understand the factors that may affect performance and motivation in the work place
  • Be able to improve levels of motivation and increase performance in the workplace
  • Able to utilise active listening and emotional intelligence to understand and address team members’ motivations
  • Able to implement positive reinforcement and constructive feedback techniques to encourage and motivate staff
  • Good practices.

Module 5: Solving problems by making effective decisions in the workplace

The purpose of this module is to enable candidates to make effective decisions to solve complex problems in the workplace.

Learning Outcomes

  • Able to analyse a complex problem in the context of the workplace
  • Able to apply decision making techniques when assessing possible solutions
  • Able to plan how you will implement the solution
  • Able to analyse complex workplace problems using a systematic approach
  • Able to evaluate potential solutions against a set of criteria to ensure alignment with business objectives
  • Able to make informed decisions that are justifiable and ethical
  • Communicate decisions effectively to stakeholders to facilitate implementation and buy-in
  • Use decision-making models or tools

Module 6: Managing Risk in the Workplace

The purpose of this module is for learners to be able to manage risks in the workplace covering various industries.

Learning Outcomes

  • Understand the importance of managing risks in the workplace
  • Be able to identify and manage risks in own area of responsibility
  • Identify and assess potential risks within the workplace using established risk management frameworks
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies
  • Monitor and review risk management processes to ensure effectiveness
  • Communicate risk assessments and strategies clearly to all levels of staff to promote a culture of safety and risk awareness.
