Workforce Development Programme

For any business to be successful, a skilled workforce is integral to an organisations overall business plan. This may require upskilling or realigning the skills of your workforce to that of your organisational needs. The Workforce Development Programme (WDP) was set up to meet those exact needs.

Through access to a human resource development advisor you will be able to seek expert advice on;

  • Your company’s strategy and development plan for members of staff.
  • Help with improving your approach to management and in building an organisational development plan.
  • Identifying developmental requirements of and creation of an agreed learning plan
  • Assisting the company to meet its training plan by matching it with training organisations and appropriate courses.
  • Supporting the company with achieve Investors in People Status

The advisor will assist you to attain recognised training providers that can deliver qualifications at little or no cost to organisations.

The Workforce Development Programme is funded by Welsh Government and provides 50% grant funding to organisations based in Wales to help with their training and development costs. Up to £6,000 is available to organisations with ten or more staff, and which have been operating for over 12 months. The application to join the programme is quick and easy – it only takes 10 minutes and the service is free.

In addition to this we can enable you to undertake NVQ accredited training courses. We offer a wide variety of training courses that can be shaped to that of your company. These can be focused around; customer care, sales and marketing, managing teams, managing individuals and improving the productivity of your organisation with accredited IT and MS Office training.

All of our WDP courses are accredited by the Institute of Leadership and Management, the British computer society and City and Guilds. In addition to this we can offer a wide variety of unaccredited training that meets the needs of any reactive contemporary organisation including Web development, HTML and CSS, and SEO and Social Media.

£1,000 of the grant can be used for general training and development needs. The other (up to) £5,000 must be used for Leadership and Management training.
